What Do I Bring To Camp?

Since its first camp opened in 1950, Young Life has strengthened its commitment to reaching kids through its world-class camping ministry. Last year, more than 100,000 kids attended one of Young Life’s camps for either a weekend camp during the school year or a week-long camp during the summer. These kids experienced the time of their lives and had the opportunity to open up to their leaders sharing their struggles, fears and thoughts about God. Young Life camping has, and continues to be, an effective means for sharing the Gospel with teens.

Lake Champion, a premiere Young Life camping property provides all bedding for your child’s stay (sheets, towels, pillows, and blankets) - please refer to the list below for a list of additional items to bring.

Lake Champion | 2016
We will be doing the OBSTACLE COURSE the first night of camp. Please make sure your kids pack something that they can get messy/wet. Furthermore, please make certain your kids have close-toed shoes for this event.  These shoes will also get pretty muddy so an older shoe would be better for these activies.
Additionally, please pack:
  • Red and/or green outfit
  • 80's Themed attire (neon clothes, leg warmers, sun glasses, etc.)
  • Toiletries (deodorant, tooth paste, soap, feminine products, etc.)
  • Shower Shoes (not necessary - mildly suggested)
  • Appropriate swimwear and towel for the pool. Consider bringing more than one suit since you won’t have the ability to wash it every day (mild suggestion).
  • Sunscreen
  • A face towel
  • Disposable camera (cell phones will be collected upon arrival)
  • Spending money for the snack bar and souvenirs
  • Prescription Medications
